This event is aiming at sharing good practices towards achieving the SDGs, and thereby drawing essence for creating such actions.
The session consists of three pillars. First is the process and national level implementation. Here, Japan and a few European countries cases (Netherlands/Germany) will be presented, and discussion takes place as to what are the essence for national governmental actions. In case of Japan, a case for the first stakeholder conference for making a proposal for the revision of Japan’s SDG Implementation Guiding Principle was held on 6 September will be discussed as a case of stakeholder dialogue. Second is presenting a good practice. Some companies (ANA Holdings Inc., Rakuten Inc.) as well as a local government(s) (Shizuoka city) present their actions on the SDGs, and share the essence for actions (or difficulties encountered). They will also share an ideas regarding necessary support from other actors. Finally, measuring the progress is discussed. At the event, Japan’s SDG White Paper, which is an initiative led by academics and private actors and includes localized SDG indicators, will be released. Other cases for measurement will also be discussed.
The session is dedicated to accelerating progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals through deeper public-private partnerships.

Essence for Successful Actions towards Achieving the SDGs

本シンポジウムでは、2019年9月6日に幅広いステークホルダーの参加を得てまとめられ、外務省に提出された「SDGs実施指針改定に向けた提言」の内容やプロセスについて、共有します。
また、国際研究機関等による欧米諸国における政府の取組に関する事例紹介や、産学連携体制にてSDGsを推進する研究コンソーシアム「xSDGコンソーシアム」に参加する企業や自治体での取り組み紹介のほか、SDGs達成に向けた日本の状況をまとめた『SDGs白書2019』の発表も予定しています。
